"Jane Hayes is a young New Yorker apparently quite normal, but she has a secret: her obsession with Mr. Darcy, or more precisely for Colin Firth playing Mr Darcy in the BBC adaptation of" Pride and Prejudice " . result, her love life is close to nothing: no man is to live up to comparison When a rich relative leaves him a legacy of three-week stay at Pembrook Park, a mansion where one lives in the skin! a heroine of Jane Austen, Jane's fantasies become a little too real. This immersion in this Austenland she manage to rid the girl of his obsession to enable it to meet a real Mr Darcy? Romantic comedy all fans of Jane Austen wait! " I think
And if I confessed that I have never read pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? Do not be too mean (s), I intend to read it one day or the other! I wanted to read this little book in parallel Martyrs of Peru, to change some records and have a read a bit more "soft". Ultimately, I quickly paused it, to focus on Martyrs. But I really think it did me good to read after Martyr. With such a light that it read, I avoided to overload my reading level still low these days, I do not want another failure reading!
Coming to the most important (the book, yes, yes), I had a good time. A relaxing read, which I unfortunately can not compare to pride and Prejudice, not having read it. But it was very entertaining, with an English sense of humor that made me laugh several times in the story. Added to this, a powerful heroine, abused by relations that have led nowhere and have further reinforced his passion for Mr. Darcy. Yes, the main character of pride and Prejudice, especially the Mr. Darcy played by Colin Firth. Personally, if you ask me, I much prefer Matthew MacFadyen in the role of Darcy. But avoid this controversial topic and back on topic.
Jane Hayes is so obsessed with the perfection of Mr. Darcy, she can not help comparing all his conquests with this fictional character. barnstormer Which is annoying, since none are as perfect. barnstormer His great-aunt, decided to offer her to her death, living in Pembrock Park. English mansion where we relive barnstormer the days of the nineteenth century in the English bourgeoisie for a few weeks to live as the heroes of the novels of Jane Austen.
I really enjoyed the shift register of language between dialogues happening Pembrock Park and thoughts of Jane. Demarcation between a narrative style of the nineteenth century and the modern. The narrative is a bit too short for my taste, which gave me the feeling barnstormer of too rapid unwinding. The author takes care to flesh out the moments of community life in Pembrock Park, with slightly descriptive passages, which I must admit slow the pace of the narrative. The outcome, however it is quickly completed. Regarding romance, she is, for her, cute, but still shallow for most of the story, given the framework that unrealistic.
I recommend this novel, barnstormer if you fancy a little time to relax in the company of a nice bright reading. A short story that reads chick lit very quickly, but I do not keep an unforgettable memory. After that, I do not know at all if it will satisfy fans of Mr Darcy seeking a book that could do it justice. I intend to watch the movie on the other hand, a good time to go ahead!
+ Info: The second volume "Midnight in Austenland" will take place with other characters. The film adaptation of the same name, produced by Stephenie Meyer in person, is available for streaming on the internet. I let you watch the trailer! barnstormer
