The first Form of the medal was on 18 May 1842 donated by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV as "Army medal" and has on the back the initials - F - W - IV -. Get this medal have the grenadier company, which were divided as a guard of honor for the king at the silver wedding of Tsar Nicholas I and his wife Alexandra, Princess of Prussia. Awarded were only 128 pieces. Under King William I, the medal was revived and again awarded with the Schiffre brandsaver - W -. This award was given to civilians by the Zivilkabinet or for military personnel by the Military Cabinet. The reasons for the award is unknown as there are no statutes or orders. To 1908, the silver medal was then made of gilded brandsaver silver, copper. From 1917 Medals made of gilded fine zinc were produced. In fine zinc Medals closed royal crown are known.
